Help with Precision T7400 blinking 1, 2

I purchased a used Dell Precision T7400 from a person that claimed the PSU failure due to the computer not turning on and booting.

I did a test on the PSU using the button on it and it tests ok.

After pressing the power button it ends up blinking power button in amber and the 1 and 2 blinking before it turns off. From documentation this is to mean "A possible system board failure has occurred".

My question is, how definite is this self test? Will replacing the motherboard fix the problem or is there possibility that other components might have failed?

I reseated the cpus and ram, tried different video cards in different slots but the signal is always the same.

Any suggestions for further testing or how to proceed are appreciated.

Blinking Amber Power button is BAD Power supply.

The 7400 doesnt use proprietary power supply.

EVGA Super nova 700B1 or 750B1 would work fine if it only has 525W unit.  If it has the 1000W unit you obviously need a bigger power supply.

Thanks for the response but you seem to be making a couple incorrect assumptions.

I can see how flashing amber power button could indicate a problem with the power supply, but that component has its own test button which works fine, and all the error codes include a blinking amber power button.

Also, the power supply is not an ATX supply. The main connector pin out is different and it has a 20 pin power connector which i am yet to see on an ATX supply.
