Help with a Gateway GT4010
I'm trying to fix a Gateway GT4010 running Windows Media XP for a friend
The PC starts up fans run Drive opens and closes but there is no video... the monitor doesn't even seem to recognize that the PC is connected
Video is connected to the MOBO so I installed a Vid Card and connected it to the monitor. The Vid Card fan ran but the monitor still no video.
I can't tell if the Hard Drive is running doesn't sound like it is booting? blue light in the front panel does not light either.
I've read that the PSU can cause this? But what I really think is the MOBO is DEAD!
I'm about ready to tell her to buy a new PC b/c this ones like 5 years old!
Any advise would help thanks!

I would try a new PSU and possibly new memory. You might also check that the CPU is seated properly (not a likely problem, but I would check anyway).
Try pulling and extra cards out. If if still doesn't work, it does look like a bad motherboard or possibly the CPU.
