How do I determine which USB I have?
Can anybody help me answer a question about my Dell Dimension 4500 please. How do I know which type of USB (1 or 2) the four rear and two front USB ports are?
Device manager gives a difficult to understand output as follows:
In Device Manager under Universal Serial Bus controllers there are 9 entries as follows:
Intel PCI to USB Enhanced Host Controller
Intel ® 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller – 24C2
Intel ® 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller – 24C4
Intel ® 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller – 24C7
USB 2.0 Root Hub
USB Printing Support
USB Root Hub
USB Root Hub
USB Root Hub
As the system has 4 rear and two front USB ports I am puzzled by the 9 entries and I am not sure which items relate to the 6 physical ports and whether they are USB 1 or 2.
Thanks

You have USB 2.0 and all ports are USB 2.0. You can see this your Device Manager as shown in Red below:

Intel ® 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller – 24C4
Intel ® 82801DB/DBM USB Universal Host Controller – 24C7
USB 2.0 Root Hub
USB Printing Support
USB Root Hub
USB Root Hub

Sorry for the delay in replying I have been rather busy lately so no spare time to surf.
I am still puzzled by the device manager listing on my PC. 2 queries: 1) As I have six USB ports why do I only see 4 root hubs? I guess the fifth is my printer which is USB connected. 2) Why is only hub one listed as USB 2.0 and not all of them?
Any adivce on how to determine if all six of the USB ports on my PC are USB 2.0 welcome.
