Try speaking in a different language to confuse the computer.

Seriously, you could just go into your sound properties and turn off the microphone (click the mute button).

If you need to use your microphone for other applications and don't want to disable it, go into the Control Panel under "Speech" and you'll find the option to turn off Speech Recognition. Your mic will still work this way.

I *did* shut off the microphone, but it still does it. I thought maybe there was something I left out. I will go to "Speech" and see if I can find anything else there. Thanks

I am having the same problem only when I open the window advanced speech the 3 buttons on the bottom; OK; Cancel; & Apply fall below my screen and I am unable to click on them. I am unable to size the window also. Is there a shortcut key on the keyboard to apply the change to turn it off?

Thanks for your help.
