How do I open the case for the D333?

Just bought a used Dell Computer D333, Dimension XPS, and want to know how to open the case. I can't find specs on the Dell site for the computer. Where do I go to get the manual and specs for operating?

Try one of the following sites (they have good prices too)

www.crucial.com

www.4allmemory.com

Thanks Steve, what I need are the specs for the system. I bought it used and there wasn't a manual. Need to know about what memory to use (SDRAM? PC100?) it has 3 memory banks; and also reco'd modem/sound cards.

for the parts. Got the floppy out; no hard drive in the computer.
How the heck do I get the Zip and CD ROM out. Went to the support site, no instructions for removing those parts. If anyone can send me the instructions or diagram would appreciate it.

Chicago_gal,

Download the Service Manual from the site that volcano11 provided. It contains all the information you need to completely cannibalize the computer.

thanks for all your help but -- the service manual.pdf link doesn't open. I've tried 2 browsers. All morning trying to get it open.

Just want to know what to do to remove the Int. Zip & internal CD Rom. Right side of the case opened, but the left side is not openable.

It seems that the screws are holding the parts in from the right side of the case. And I can't remove the left side to get to the screws. Unless there's another way. Thanks in advance again.

Apparently you don't have Adobe installed as the link worked fine for me.

Once you remove the right side of the case, remove the front bezel.  Three tabs on the left, then it swings open and the other side comes off.  Then, you undo 1 screw holding the drive cage to the chassis, slide the cage forward 1 inch, and lift it out.

The other side of the case doesn't come off.  Hopefully you took off the LEFT side, not the RIGHT side...

Chicago-gal,

Do you have the Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on the computer on which you are trying to open the documentation files (as stated on the download site)?

If not, follow the links on the site to download the free Acrobat Reader.

Just tried again.  When I click the Service manual.pdf link a blank screen appears with a X in the upper left corner.

Is there a way I can order it from Dell?  All I want to know is how to open the right side panel, so I can get the CD ROM and zip drive out.

I provided you with the EXACT instructions, what else do you need?

No, Dell will not send you the manual.

I don't want to prolong this because shortly I'm going to take an axe to the computer ...but....one side of the panel has been removed. No problem after pressing some buttons. The bezel???? but the other side is sealed. The CD ROM and the Zip Drive are encased and the screws cannot be gotten to. Does that make sense???? Here comes the axe...
