Are the caps actually leaking now, or is this something that you want to swap as a preventable measure? You can tell on the caps them selves if they are the kind that leak. There are two different brands that are on these. Michicon and Rubycon. Look at the writing on the capasitor itself. One has a gold tint to the writing and the other more of an orange/gold tint. Which do you have?
I'm in London, with a replacement board that I plan to take out there on Sunday.
The replacement board is ok at the moment but it does have nichicon NH(M) caps on it. It actually has 9 nichicon caps in a row next to the cpu socket. The caps for the memory are rubycon.
As this will be working in Barcelona while I provide support from London I want to be able to trust the components I have out there (2x GX270 small desktops).
At the moment as both machines are built and working 14 hours a days I'd rather not have to re-build the software onto new different boxes.

The issue with bad capacitors on GX270 machines.
And then that Dell do not provide warranty to 2nd users of machines.
So I've got an in warranty failed board that I can't get replaced. I'll need to buy a board off ebay or wherever.
Now how do I easily identify a good board?
I know machines shipped after March 2004 should be OK, now all I need is a datecode to aim for.
And I like to know stuff anyway.
