How to use Ultrasharp 1908FP in vertical mode?

Just turning UltraSharp 1908FP sideways doesn't result in the vertical mode, the image does not shift and remains sideways.

Do I have to do something special?

Well, in order to to rotate the screen you must enter the control panel of either ATI or nVidia, depending on what graphics card you have.

One machine has I have NVidia  Quadro FX3500 card.

The  other is a Dell Dimension 8300 and I am not sure what kind of card is in it.

Probably the default one that came with it.

How do I access these configuration menus?

If the onboard graphics is Intel then the Intel Extreme Graphics driver support rotation as a combo from the keyboard. Ctrl and Alt together and press the arrow keys. Up arrow returns to normal orientation.
