Hyper Threading setting int he bios
I was rummaging around in the bios the other day and I noticed this hyper threading setting in the bios.
It's set to off at the moment. Would turning it on do anything? What does it do?
I have a xps gen3
3.6 ghz

If you run hyperthreading enabled applications, then having hyperthreading enabled in the BIOS will allow your computer to take advantage of the extra speed that can be obtained in the hyperthreading enabled programs. See the following:
http://www.intel.com/technology/hyperthread/
I would recommend enabling hyperthreading, just in case you have programs that can take advantage of it.

simply put it splits system resources and allows the computer to see two physical CPU's instead of one, so there are two threads
while one thread is working on a task, the other thread is working on another task to and to help the other thread in advance with tasks
you get much better multitasking performance
