Inspiron 2330 doesnt boot
Hi everybody,
I have a problem with my inspiron and am at a loss. I could really appreciate qnybodies input. It started by installing windows. It stuck on the install and after hard restarting it just starts up and gives me a blank screen. No beeps. I tried reseting with the jumpers, memory slot combinations, cmos battery off/on. In the midst of all those tries it would give me a brief dell logo and then black again. Meanwhile when its black it doesnt power up the keyboard. Any ideas?
Thank you in advance

Thank you very much for the prompt reply. I will try this as soon as i get home. I dont get the dell logo now when i start up. Will pressing f2 on startup take me to bios regardless?
Thanks

Kozriou,
Prior to installing Windows on your computer you will need to change the bios so that you can boot to the Windows disk and install Windows.
Below is information. Start the computer and TAP the F2 key to enter the bios.
Boot Tab:
To enable Secure Boot, you must set the Boot Mode to UEFI.
The Boot tab will have additional options such as Secure Boot Control and Load Legacy OPROM.
Set the Boot Mode to UEFI
Enable Secure Boot.
Standard and Custom options are available under Secure Boot Mode. The default option is Standard
The Clear Secure Boot Database option appears after setting the Secure Boot Mode to Custom
Options available under Clear Secure Boot Database.
Switching from Custom to Standard will delete all the Custom keys. Select Ok to confirm.

Hi. Started with windows 10 failed. Then 8. It went through the installation process and when it was time to restart it just went blank. Screen on but black. Waited and wiated. Then forced it out to shut down and when i restart it its blank. No dell logo no nothing. I have to play with the jumpers in the back and hope to get lucky and startup with the dell logo again. At which time i go through the intasll windows process again. When installing again and it asks me to chose partition i know the previous installation actually did write something on the disk because i deleted all the partitions before intalling. I got linux mint on disc and am thinking of trying that tonight. Any thoughts/advice is greatly appreciated

You didn't say if you're installing Win 10 or some other version...
