Inspiron 3650, video card upgrade?
I own an Inspiron 3650 which I use for gaming and occasionally programming, I am interested in installing a graphics card in my system so that it would run better and support a second screen. Can anyone provide me with graphics card recommendations based on what the system would be able to handle.

It is possible to hack it working by removing the power supply entirely and using adapter and placing power supply OUTSIDE the case.
EVGA 700B1 Any power supply REQUIRES the MODDIY adapter. The EPS12v CPU connection is still 4 pin but the 24 pin needs to be converted to 8 pin.

Dual slot SHORT cards(GTX960/970) See Recommended card below are fine. 12 inch long cards do not fit. EVGA 500W unit is recommended for a 960. EVGA NEX 700B1 is recommended for a GTX970.
A MODDIY adapter is needed to convert 24 pin to 8 pin.

Good data from SpeedStep. The two video cards we validated to run on that 240w power supply can run two monitors. What video card is currently installed?
J27RG Nvidia GT730, M212N 2GB, VGA/DVI-D/HDMI
1MPR3 AMD R9-360, M303A, 2GB, DVI-I/DP/HDMI

Yes its plug and play. Inserting a card overrides the on board video.
This means you do not have to upgrade the power supply

So, I just bought an Inspiron 3650 with an i5-6400, 12 gb RAM, and intel 530 graphics. I would like to upgrade the graphics card to the one mentioned in the video, does it require a new power supply or can it run without one? And how? Much appreciated.
