Inspiron 531s Processor upgrade question

Hello all, I have an Inspiron 531s desktop.it is a 2008 build and came with a 2.3 Ghz AMD Sempron LE-1300 Sparta processor,2Gb of Ram.160 Gb HDD, BIOS 1.0.10,and an 0RY206 motherboard. I have just added an additional 2 Gb of RAM and I would like to upgrade the processor if possible. I know the motherboard supports the Athlon 64 X2 processor but I don't know enough about the difference between the Sempron and the Athlon 64 X2 to know whether going to to the Athlon would be better or not.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The following processors are compatible with the Inspiron 531s:

AMD Athlon 64X2 Kit, 5600 , 2.9Ghz, 512KX2, Dual Core, 65Watt
AMD Athlon 64X2 kit, 5600+, 2.8Ghz, 1MX2, Dual Core, 89Watt
AMD Athlon 64X2 Kit, 5600+, 2.9Ghz, 512KX2, Dual Core, 89Watt

The fastest processors for the 531s, is the 6000+ 3.1Ghz Brisbane, or the Athlon 64 X2 5800 3.0Ghz Brisbane

Update the BIOS to the latest version 1.0.13 when support for newer processors was added, before installing the new processor.
