Inspiron 660 Power Supply Fan
My desktop started making a scraping sound when powered up. Usually goes away in a couple of seconds, but sometimes requires a slight tap to stop it.
Using a stethoscope, I finally was able to pinpoint it to the power supply fan (vs the CPU or case fan).
Before I go in for surgery, I'd like to know what I'm going to find. Is the power supply screwed together, or riveted? Will the fan be easy to replace? Should I just buy a new power supply?

There is death in there. Power supplies fans are not user repairable.
Tower can take a standard unit the 660S is proprietary and tiny.

"There is death in there"? Is that suppose to be a shock warning? LOL Don't worry about that, I've build power supplies that supply 600 volts for tube projects. Don't worry about that... although I have been bit a time or two now that I think about it :-(
