Inspiron One 2320 All-In-One Touch Screen AC Adapter.

Question

This issue seems curious to me. I have the Inspiron 2320, Windows 8. The ac adapter for this unit was recently replaced and does not seem to power the unit. I'm aware that this desktop requires a 150w dell adapter, this dell replacement I'm using is not 150w. Sounds simple enough, right? The replacement ac adapter ouput specs are as follows: 19.5v 3.34A 63.45w BUT, when I use a non dell ac adapter for testing purpose the desktop powers up and functions normally. Non dell ac adapter ouput specs: 19v 3.14A 60W How can an ac adapter of lesser output power this desktop? Is this unit designed to only accept certain ouputs, 60W, 150W, etc? Furthermore, based on the above logic, I'm apprehensive about purchasing the OEM dell 150w ac adapter for this unit. Advice? Thanks!

The ac adapter for this unit was recently replaced Who replaced it? Perhaps the replacement is a dud?

Yes, the ac adapter is functional, tested on a separate dell laptop. Bios detects ac adapter, fully charges, etc.
