Inspiron One 2330 Touch Screen - Ongoing problem
My system is less than a month old. With Dell's assistance, updating BIOS, system recover/restore, and new video drivers have all been temporary fixes. On average, after 24 hours, the touch screen feature stops working when the system is restarted. Has anyone had success in fixing this problem - please help!

I am experiencing the same problem on a recently purchased Inspiron 2330. Driver reload by Dell Tech via Tech Support chat fixed it first time. Has happened again. Driver reload fixed again ... fully expect it to stop again within hours or days.
Is there a permanent fix?

Dell has authorized replacement of my touch screen. Tech arrived yesterday, however he was given the wrong part and I am waiting for Dell to get back to me to schedule another visit. I'll advise if replacement of the screen is the permanent fix.

Replacement of my touchscreen is still questionable. Dell advised me today that they will no longer offer the touchscreen feature on this particular model.

I have an Inspiron One 2320 running Windows 7 which is also having a problem with touch screen. Tech support could not solve the problem. The Microsoft KB 2405640 addresses this issue. Dell Tech Support never referenced it. Contacted Microsoft Support and there is still no resolution to the issue.

Hi 6339,
When the touch screen stops working do you get any error message?
Would also suggest you to flash Bios to see if it works.Below is the link to download Bios.

NIKHIL M:
In response, this does not help. I have spent considerable time talking with Dell Floor Supervisors and Managers and it has been confirmed to me that Dell is addressing this as a hardware issue, the part needed for the touchscreen feature is not available for the Inspiron One 2330, and that it's very questionable as to whether it will be offered in the future, with one supervisor telling me the touchscreen feature has been discontinued. Every two days I receive a call from Dell telling me they will get back to me in another 24-48 hours.

Dell Tech Support updated the BIOS which did not help. As stated, Dell Tech Support doesn't have a clue to resolve the issue. Beside the BIOS they played with the display drivers which didn't solve anything. About a month ago after Dell Tech Support could not solve the issue, I put the unti back to factory settings which did not help. Dell Tech Support now wanted me to reinstall the OS and if that didn't work they would have a tech replace the motherboard since according to Dell Tech Support the display driver resides on the motherboard. In addition, I too have been offered home tech visit with change in touch screen board and display which I have declined based on a previous home tech visit about another 2320 problem which the visit did not reslove. Bottom line is Dell Tech Support is just hoping that the issue will go away and the customers are.

I am also having the same problem. I have upated all drivers, bios and firmware to the latest versions. I get errors when I try the online diagnostics tool. I tried the Dell hotline at 19.00 and got a recorded message to call back between 09.00 and 21.00!! And my warranty says it was activated 6 weeks before I bought the computer!

The first two times it happened was from sleep mode. The last occurrence was not from a hibernate or sleep mode. I had to restart twice to get the touch screen working again and it is functioning properly now.
When the touch function was not working the tablet settings in the control panel stated that there was no pen or touch display installed!
