Intel Application Accelerator

Just browsing the intel website for the 845GL chipset (used in the 2350) and came across the "Application Accelerator" program that supports this chipset.

Anybody tried it? What does dell say? Known compatibility issues?

Just curious.

I'm certainly no expert on this, but here's my personal experience:

It worked fine when I was using Windows ME, but when I upgraded to XP Home, it caused lots of problems. (Actually, I'm not really sure it had any effect with ME, but at least it didn't make me pull out my hair.

I use Windows XP Home Edition and it works great for me.  I did see a increase of performance.

Hi,

I intalled it on an old Dell XPS D system, and a newer GigaByte PIII system. One runs XP, and the other runs Win98SE.
The only problem I had was with an old version or Norton System Works. After adding the AA, Norton said it could no longer defrag the disk. Since I installed the 2003 version everything is hunky dory, and both systems showed an increase in disk performance after the install.

Thanks. I just purchased a 2350 and thought I would give it a try, good to hear it helps.

ps. not a big fan of norton anyways- have they come out with an anti-virus software that doesn't interfere with suspend/hibernate modes? that's another story....
