Internet Radio Downloads

I am not sure this is the right board for this question so please let me know if there is a better place to post.

I want to download some radio shows that are able to be heard on the internet.  Then save them on my computer.  Is there a way to set my computer to tape certain shows at certain times?  If not can I do this while listening?  How do I do that?

Once I have it saved to the computer can I them burn it to a CD or download to a mp3 player?

Thank You

If the source allows it, yes. Many do not, so you'd have to record them using a speaker and microphone, as you would any other standard radio broadcast.

Many internet programs are available as a podcast, which is basically an MP3 file you can download and play back from your computer or MP3 player (does not need to be an ipod). For "manual" recording, Audacity is a very good freeware, open-source program. There are some programs that allow scheduled recording.
