Is External USB Floppy Drive Equivalent to Internal Floppy Drive in Windows Setup?
During Windows setup, I must install additional driver. Normally, this requires an internal floppy drive A. My 9150 doesn't have a floppy drive. Can I buy an external floppy drive and load the drivers from this device? I am afraid not, but want confirmation.
Also, since the CD drive already functions (and has the setup CD), can I install a 2nd CD drive and have the drivers on a CD for installation instead of getting a floppy drive?
Thanks.

If I were you, I would contact Dell customer service and request the Win XP installation CD. They will generally send it to you at no charge and it would be the OEM Windows installation disk without the "extras" that you are worried about. They will need your service tag number to allow them to send the correct part number that should have the RAID/SATA drivers already on it.

Thank you Bev and Mary G for the info.
I am now trying to learn to slipstream the drivers to my own copy of Windows XP CD so I don't have to use a floppy drive.
Dell saves a few pennies by not shipping me any CD with the 9150 and this cost me a couple of days trying to install XP on the SATA drives. Dell CD has the drivers included, while my own Windows CD doesn't. I don't like all the junk on Dell's Windows installation and want a clean installation of Windows. What a pain.

Another forum participant had very nice comments about the slipstreaming capability of the program here.
