KM632 Wireless Keyboard Problem

I purchased a KM632 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo which is supposed to be compatible with my Inspiron One 2305 computer but the keyboard isn't working. The mouse works fine but the keyboard, despite having a green light indicating it’s on, doesn't seem to be sending a signal or the signal isn't being received. This keyboard doesn't appear to have a connect button. What should I do?

Here's the doc <ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell> for your keyboard and mouse which has a few troubleshooting tips.  

But let's back up...

  1. Did this keyboard ever work with your 2305?
  2. Have you tried cycling it on/off a couple of times?
  3. Can you test it with a different PC?
  4. Does another keyboard work?
  5. What version of Windows?

I've tried all the troubleshooting tips in the doc. The batteries are placed in the correct position, the on/off switch is on, after installing the batteries I see a green power indicator on the front of the keyboard. I've tried removing and reinserting the USB receiver, restarting the computer, and I've tried the USB receiver on another USB connector.

I got this keyboard a couple days ago and straight out of the box it wasn't working on my computer. I've tried cycling it on/off and testing it with a different PC. It still doesn't work. At this point I'm thinking it must be faulty. Other keyboards do work with my computer, including wireless keyboards. My PC is running Windows 7.

Sounds like you got a bum keyboard.  Contact Dell asap and request an exchange.

Hope the new one doesn't give you any troubles.

Post back and let us know what happens with the replacement keyboard.
