Keyboard and Mouse Issues

I have XPS 400 running Media Center 2005.  I have a Microsoft Wireless Desktop Elite Keyboard and Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0 and none of my hotkeys work:  i.e. volume, internet, email, favorites, etc at the top of the keyboard.  The IR receiver for the set has a USB for the mouse and PS/2 for the keyboard.  Since XPS doesn't have PS/2 connections, I bought a PS/2 to USB adapter.  The updated software is installed from Microsoft and they both work, but not the hotkeys.  This configuration worked on my Dimension 8100.  Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Look in msconfig startup.  I believe something may be turned off in there.

Hey navstay,

I have the exact same setup on my new XPS 400 and have been using the hot keys without any problems at all, one thing-----on connections, I didn't connect the PS/2 for the keyboard just the one USB and all works fine.

I have another system built for studio / music editing and I configured it the same way, so far no problems at all.

be sure and keep check on battery levels?

Thanks to you all.  I took off the adapter and just plugged the USB part of the IR device and all works fine.
