The Aver 336 Card is a Mini PCIE card.  Does not have Analog audio jacks and uses Native Windows Drivers.

Windows 7 Compatibility for AVerMedia A336 Hybrid Mini Card ...

The MPAA specifically does not allow you to "RECORD" in analog the Digital Video out.

ATSC is not ANALOG and does NOT use the RCA jacks for Audio.

Soon devices will display on the screen "The Copywright bit is on you are not allowed to record"

Its the same reason BLUE RAY discs will not show ANY signal if the video card is displaying on the Analog VGA output.

You cannot record analog TV because there are no more Analog TV Transmissions without Macrovision Copy protection.

Dell is not going to be able to "fix" this nor is anyone else.

There are no NTSC analog video and audio outputs that will be decoding digital TV and Output Non HDMI aka Non Encrypted

Audio and Video.

I posted this in your other thread yesterday:

"That RCA jack is an input, but not for the tuner. The tuner requires an antenna or other RF input."

Since your are not connecting a source to the TV tuner, you can not record live tv.

EDIT: To use it as a DVR, you'd need to connect a source to the RF input (on the back, I think).

So It has A/V input jacks (yelow, red and white) to record but it will not let me use the computer like a DVR? If this is correct then Dell sales department really needs a upgrade in what they sell. Is what I'm asking correct, It will not act as DVR?

Thank You

Some things to consider...

Be aware that since the machine is not defective, they  may charge a 15% restocking fee.

I am unaware what you will replace it with, as no computer I know of will take a composite in and allow it to work as a DVR.

Good luck with things, whatever you end up doing.

So it'll get boxed up and returned. I sure wish sales had product knowledge. You can count on better and more truthful replies in the community forums than Dells on people. What a trip... Thank You to all those who reached out.

Peace

Michael
