Logitech MouseWare won't uninstall

I just bought the Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer mouse but the software that came with it won't install as I cannot unistall the Logitech mouseware that came with my Dell.  I have tried everything to get it uninstalled with no luck.  I continue to get the message that it will confilict with the new software and then it tries to uninstall the Logitech MouseWare.  It then advises that it cannot uninstall.  Has anyone run into this problem?  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  I was on with a Microsoft Tech person but when they could not succeed in getting the Logitech software uninstalled either they referred me to who I bought my computer from...which is a nice way of getting rid of me.

Appreciate any suggestions.

You need to disable the original mouse in the device manager. You could try to shut down, hook up new mouse, reboot and let windows detect new hardware and install from there. After that, go into the device manager and see what drivers are showing. You can disable the original driver and update from that window to the new ones.

PredAlien,

Thanks for the info.  I had tried all of the above without success.  It seems their is an uninstall file missing for the Logitech mouse that aborts the uninstall of the Logitech mouse driver.  I have tried everyway to uninstall and cannot.  Because the Logitech mouseware is not uninstalled it aborts the installation of the new MS Intellimouse software based on it conflicting with the Logitech.  I seem to be dead in the water.  About ready to take the MS Wireless Intelliemouse Explorer back and trade it in on a Logitech.

Thanks again for your attempt at helping.
