Looking to upgrade PSU and GPU in Studio XPS 8000

Hi all,

First off I'd like to apologize for my lack of knowledge in the field, I'm not particularly knowledgeable about computer hardware, so bear with me please =]. I'm looking to replace the stock 350W PSU that comes stock with a more powerful one (CORSAIR CMPSU-750TX 750W link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139006) and was wondering if that specific power supply would fit into my tower since I hear that Dell has strange deal with their power supplies, with being proprietary and what not.

Alongside the upgraded PSU I'm looking to replace the card the computer is coming with with the Radeon HD 5750 or the TwinFrozr 1G OC GeForce GTS 250 1GB (which was recomended by my friend) and was curious which you thought was a better card (same prices), but since I am not qualified to make the call I thought I would ask in here.

Link to the Radeon HD 5750: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121351

Link to the GeForce GTS 250: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127445

As a side note, if anybody knows of any superior power supplies or graphic cards for a better deal or comparable value I am open to suggestions.

Thank you for the help,

Joe

I have the exact same question!

Dell is replacing my XPS600 under warranty with a new XPS 8000 and I want to upgrade the PSU and Graphics card so I would like those answers.  The XPS 8000 looks so new that there is not a lot of postings about it.  I will need someone with better computer skills to answer.

I am also looking to double the 4GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1066MHz-2X2GB that comes with it.  Do i need to buy the exact same speed RAM?

I'm really interested in this information, and I'm sure other people are too, so for that reason, I'm bumping again.
