Low sound at max
I have a Inspiron 660 and my sound has to be at max all the time because it is not even close to being loud. So is there a way for the sound driver/card to be louder? Plus I have done no tweaking in the sound settings to mess it up.

There may be a background application overriding the volume.

Hi Thespeedkarter,
Does this happen with both speakers and headphones? Did this situation start recently or have you always had the problem?
I see two sounds cards under drivers for the Inspiron 660. Which do you have?

There are three I found I don't know what one it is
1. Conexant SmartAudio HD
2. Intel(R) Display Audio
3. Razer Surround Audio Controller

I wonder if it's the Razer controller?

Go to sounds, playback tab, and see which output device is default.

Grab the Conexant driver from the link I provided above and install that.
