MP3 file conversion

I downloaded a CD & would like to know how to convert it to an MP3 file or wav. Or does it automatically convert when you download to your hard drive?
Also, for anyone interested about the visualizations in Media Player. They only go to full screen on certain ones.

Go to www.musicmatch.com & download the free mp3 player. There is a conversion utility included.

Music match Jukebox doesn't "store" anything other than the reference to the songs on the hard drive.  You can use MMJB, or any other MP3 conversion program to convert the files to MP3.  One note, when you convert them to a compressed format, such as MP3 (and whatever bitrate), there will be some loss of fidelity and how much depends on the compression bit rate.  Also once you convert them to MP3 (or WMA another compression format) you can convert them back to wav format but you won't regain the original fidelity.

In what way did you "store" or "download" your CD? In my opinion CDex ( http://cdexos.sourceforge.net/ ) would be the best solution to convert/compress audio files. Also if you like visualizations you really should try WinAMP ;) .
