The link I got on my original thread is on Dell's Fix-It->Ask Dudley link. I realize now the closest model I found from the list, Dimension XPS 4100V... is an IntelDX2™ 66/33 MHz or at best an IntelDX4™ 100/33 MHz Microprocessor type.
I thank you all for your responses but my question still remains. How is it that I am running low on memory resources when I have 256MB RAM.
Mary, or anyone: Could you please try to open two instances of Word, Excel, Publisher, IExplorer, Paint Brush each, and see what percentage of memory resources you have available?
I cannot open eight applications! I start getting repainting problems, font sizes getting larger, and application terminated abnormally errors. I have my memory resouce showing only 8% available, i.e. if I am able to get to it.
If I am the only one this is happening to, I will have to find an alternate way of dealing with it.
And I may not be an expert but I am not confusing this with the DOS 64K limitation.
Check out Denny's Resource Management I opened all you mentioned and only used about 30% of my resources. You may have programs running in the background that you are not aware of. Good luck,
blackjck
