I added 2 more gigs of ram [ 2 1 gig sticcks ] of the same ram.Everything shows it to be there.So I did the dell utility disk memory test,and had the following error.WCMATS testing and got memory compare error dimm 2 failed.The same kind of ram all 4 gigs.Thanks....ram OCZ 2G8002GK
Hello cowboycat, Even though you mention it is the same kind of ram, since it is a newer manufacture date, the specifications may be different.
It appears that there is a conflict with the original memory and the new memory.
Did you remove the new memory and see if the system runs normally with the original memory.
If so, I would remove the original memory and install the new memory and see if the system will run with it.
This may tell you much about the compatibility of the new memory.
