Missing Ethernet Controller after reloading Windows XP OS

HI,

I have a Dell Vostro 200 and after reloading Windows XP Home SP2 Operating system to fix a few system problems I am now missing my Ethernet Controller Driver.  The driver isn't on my drivers and utilities disk and I can't find it online or in the tech support pages.  Can anyone one help me find the right one I need for part#  DX929 Processor, E4500, 2.20Ghz, 2M, Intel Core 2 Duo - Conroe Motherboard.  I need this to reconnect to my router and network.

Jeff,

I think this will help you. You should have a drivers disk that came with your computer.

How to Install Drivers in Microsoft® Windows® on Dell Systems

Since the operating system was re-installed did you remember to go to drivers and downloads, enter your service tag(DO NOT POST SERVICE TAG here or your post will get deleted, since it contains your personal information), and install these drivers in this order.

Desktop System Software or Notebook System Software
Chipset or SMBus driver
Processor Driver (if applicable)
Video
Audio (sound)
Input Drivers (keyboard/mouse)
Modem
Network Card

Hi folks,

I had exactly the same problem.

After re-installation the driver was still on my computer, but I couldn't identify it due to missing text information in the file folder. After following Rick's link I knew the program's name (R159293) of the Ethernet controller. After installation everything's under control now.

Thanks to Rick!

Cheers
