Monitor not being detected

Hello,

I'm on a Dell Precision T3600 running windows 7 with a Dell U2312HM monitor. I went on vacation for 2 weeks, came home, turned on the computer, and the monitor won't display anything from the computer. It was working fine before I left and I've had it for almost a year now. This is my only monitor so the first problem is that I can't see what I'm doing to check any settings on the computer. The monitor works fine when connected to my laptop with the same VGA cable. I have tried using a different input from the computer into the monitor, but that doesn't work either. The monitor just keeps saying it's going into Power Save mode or that it's not getting signal.  I don't know what possibly could have happened while the computer was shut down for 2 weeks. Please help me!

What color is the power button and is it steady or blinking?  Are any of the diagnostic LEDs on?

Do you see the Dell logo when it starts to boot and then the monitor goes off?

Power off and unplug.  Press/hold power button for ~15 sec.  Open the case and carefully reseat the video card in its slot.  Then see if it boots now.

When was last time you replaced motherboard battery?

Thanks Rohe!

I opened up the computer and reseated the video card and that solved the problem. Maybe there was an earthquake while I was away haha. Thanks so much!

Or the kitty cat (or other mischevious hands) yanked on the video cable and unseated the card... :emotion-2:
