Need help with front panel pin setup
Hey
I currently have a dell vostro 230 slim
I want to now where i would plug in power, Powerled, HDD led, and reset button
The motherboard doesnt have it labeled.
and right now the front panel connecters are bundled up from my case
and i want to know because im buying a new case with all of the connectors seperated not bundled up.
Please help

PLRSE
HLPWU
+ +
PL = Power LED
HL = HDD activity LED
RS = Reset switch
PW = power switch
E = no pin
U = unused pin
+ = positive (pin one)

my motherboard panel connectors are this

so its 6x2 so its 12 pin not 10 pin
so would it be this?

i think you were talking about numb 12 which is the usb front panel

You're welcome.
The plus signs indicate the positive pins -- align those with the plug ends marked with arrows.

what is the ++ for?
also are you sure that is the right diagram? cause mine has 12 pin and that is 10 pin for the dell vostro 230
also where did u get this information

I hadn't bothered to look and assumed the header was the same as it is on my XPS 7100. You might want to double check that the leads go to the places I said they would.
I had fun (not) installing an Asus mainboard into the XPS 7100 case, as the Asus has some non-standard pin assignments. I had to buy an ATX power switch from Fry's from which to cannibalize a two-pin connector.
