New sound card

Hi:

I have recently bought the Razer Barracuda Headset, and was sad to find out that whatever type of sound that comes with the Dell XPS 400 doesnt even support it. (Barely anyway). I opened my case and didnt see any sound card in the PCI slots...only my video card... What can be a good surround sound card that could handle the power and beauty of my new headset? xD Price range of 100?

Check out Turtle Beach cards.  Very reasonable in price and very good performance.

Ok just a few questions :P I like the one from turtlebeach (http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/mtgoddl/home.aspx).

1. What sound came with my computer? Since I didnt find any type of sound card in a PCI slot...

2. Will my speakers that came with the Dell XPS 400 be compatible with this card?

3. Is it compatiible with my mobo?

4. Will all the little plugs on the barracuda headset be able to plug into this?

Thanks!

Sorry for the delay in my response.  The sound card that came with your system is onboard.  There is a setting called "Onboard devices" that most likely will contain the ability to turn the sound off.  Most likely it can be disabled in the BIOS. Speakers will be compatible with the card.  I assume your speakers have a very small plug...colored green.  That simply will plug into the back of the Turtle Beach.  Also saw shots of the motherboard.  Has PCI slots....several of them to be exact.  More than enough room to install the TurtleBeach.  Recommend this page on the site.  Provides a good shot of the sound card: http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/mtgoddl/indetail.aspx .  I see it is a full PCI form, which will fit just fine in your system.  The Razor headset requires a MIC IN jack, which the Turtle Beach possess.  I think you are good to go.  Good Luck!

Ok I got it today :) I opened my case and located the open PCI slots... And like in many videos and articles I searched, there was no screws to take off that back panel. Only this like blue bar thing...***? Lol. BTW: I already disabled onboard in BIOS
