No Sound...HDA Audio Bus Driver Required, Not Found

Question

I recently re-installed Windows XP on my Dell Dimension B110 desktop computer and downloaded every update available from Windows Update. Everything is fine, except I have no sound.  In the device manager under 'Other Devices' with a yellow question mark is Multimedia Audio Controller.  I know I need the ADI 198x Integrated Audio driver which I can get from the Dell, but when I try to download it I get the following error: HDA Audio Bus Driver Required, Not Found I've tried everything to resolve this problem, including the autofix on the Microsoft website (which didnt detect a problem), AND downloading a hotfix for Windows XP which is available here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111.  The problem is that there is no hotfix for XP users with Service Pack 3! At this point I'm at my wits end and nothing seems to work.  I appreciate all the help that anyone could give me. It feels like I have attempted every solution, but I am open for anything at this point. Thank you!

You might not have followed the strict order of driver installation.for a Manual Install. The Chipset drivers and the Desktop System Software (if applicable) must be installed first or the other drivers do not install properly.
