Hi,

Could you please provide the model number of the computer, I will specify the correct drivers which need to be installed on the computer accordingly. I request you to private message the system service tag number.

To private message, accept my friend request; click on my user name and click start conversation.

For any clarifications please feel free to contact me.

Hi themaverick1953,

When you click start conversation, it should open a little box for you to type a message.

Let me ask another question. If you choose last known good configuration, you said you're able to boot the computer. Have you tried running system restore and picking a restore point prior to installing these updates?

Is this your Inspiron 580? Are you running Windows 7?

I can't remember what drivers I reinstalled but all was fine until I installed the recommended drivers for my service tag. I dont understand why there is no system restore point to use. I thought windows just created these regulalry? Why doesnt the converstion window work?

When you reinstalled Windows in January, did you install the required drivers? And has everything been running properly since then, at least until you tried to install these 11 recent drivers?

I discovered this was a well known problem caused by Dell drivers corrupting the MBR on seagate drives, and found the solution. I would still like the full set of latest drivers for my PC though.

System restore points may not be created for various reasons. Am I correct to understand that you have to choose last know configuration every time you start the computer? Or are you simply presented with the advanced boot menu? Have you tried normal startup?

Do you know which driver caused the problem?
