Not enough extended memory
This is the error I get.
Not enough extended memory available to run Windows.
Quit one or more applications to increase available memory or restart your computer. Press any key to continue....
I can get the system into safe mode. If I try normal mode this is the message I receive.
Can somebody help!

Windows 98 needs himem.sys to run. If you have no config.sys file, it is loaded automatically. However, if you have a config.sys file you must tell that file to load it. Place the following at the start of your config.sys file: Device=Himem.sys.
You might also take a look at the second link under my signature to lessen the load on your system when you start.
Want to make a hyperlink in your post, want to add a graphic or sound file, need to troubleshoot a non-working Java applet, want to build an attractive signature? These capabilities can be yours if you visit Denny's DellT@lk Tutorials.
For help in deciding what can be eliminated from your Startup list, take a look here.

device=c:\windows\himem.sys.
Should I change something or add to it?
Thanks for responding!
