Nvidia GPU upgrade to Studio XPS 435MT?

Can anyone advise whether its possible to put an nvidia gtx 260 in the studio xps 435MT? I'm waiting on delivery of the machine but I'm having second thoughts about the choice of graphics card. Only ATI cards were available in the configuration tool so I expected to change it myself after delivery anyway.

njdledd,

Depending on how many other components you have installed, the GTX 260 might be too much for the 360w power supply.

Thanks Chris.

I may not have the headroom between the core i7 920, dual harddrives, and 6GB of memory. I believe the HD4850 option would have a max board draw of 110 watts. If the machine could take a HD4870 (160 watts max I believe) then I could switch to a lower level nvidia gtx 260 (the 192 stream processor version maxs out at <140 watts). I guess I'll just have to wait and see what my headroom is and whether I can get the extra 30 watts out of the stock supply.

If it draws less than 150W the 435MT should support it with no problem. You've got the 6 pin connector in there already and everything.
