I have just disabled Deep Sleep in the BIOS and now I can see the LAN LEDs flashing when the system is powered off, but WOL still doesn't work.

Any ideas?

We are having the same issue with our 9030 AIOs.  We've updated the BIOS to A03 and turned deep sleep off.  I too have flashing network LEDs but the machine does not wake up.  I've tried various programs to wake it up including LANDesk, Faronics Core Console and running wol.exe from my own machine (on the same subnet) with no luck.

Trouble is, we replaced a bunch of 990s with these machines at all our service points and staff are expecting them to be awake when they get in in the morning, not to mention they are not waking up for their nightly maintenance schedule.

Hello Community,

Thank you for your feedback.

I know the 9020 AIO has the same issue and that there's a BIOS update coming out soon for that model. I will ask engineering about the 9030 AIO and post back here.

Thanks again.

Good afternoon,

I have some information for you all. I stated before that the 9020 AIO had the exact same issue. Turns out that it was actually a different issue I was reading about. On the 9020 AIO, you can drain the flee power then the wake on lan will work. There's a BIOS update coming out to solve that issue.

For the 9030 AIO, Rheckber is right on the money there. We found out that the 'Deep Sleep' setting does disable the network card. As described in this Dell document.

So the short answer is that what Rheckber found regarding disabling the 'Deep Sleep' setting is actually working as designed. Some systems have deep sleep enabled by default while other systems have it disabled by default.
