Optiplex 960 (triple monitors)

I am trying to achieve setting up 3 monitors on my Opti 960 MT.  I currently have a PCIe ATI 3450 dual monitor video card installed.  What card should I purchase to setup a 3rd monitor.  The only slots left are PCI slots.  Any advice is appreciated!

CBS1,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

I did a search for the Top 10 PCI Video Cards and below are the results. They have reviews to help you decide.

How about a BIOS update that would allow the on-board video to co-exist with another video card!  That would be an easy solution:emotion-2:

NVS 420

It has a funky quad dongle that allows for either 4 DVI or 4 Display Port monitors.

I actually threw 2 of these into a Precision T7500 and run eight monitors.

I know I'm late in the conversation - but what is the deal?! Why can't we use the integrated Video in addition to an add-on video card. Common now Dell!

Hi JBeans,

Dell OptiPlex 960 does not have that option of enabling both Integrated and discrete video cards on the system, so that it could be used for multiple monitors. Now this feature is available on latest Dell OptiPlex 7010 and 9010.

Please reply for any queries.

I tried to use an older PCI video card in the PCI slot and it would not work in conjunction with my ATI Radeon 3500. I only get video output from the PCI card, not the Radeon.

Hi JBeans,

You will not be able to use both video cards together one in PCIe x16 and other in PCI card as both are different technologies. You do not have crossfire feature on the motherboard to use two multiple video cards.

The only option is to purchase a PCIe x16 card with 3 outputs.
