Optiplex GX280 Celeron R 2.53Ghz Memory Upgrade Specs

I have searched for the memory type needed for the Optiplex GX280 Celeron R 2.53Ghz desktop tower/mini-tower (not SFF), and all I could find are the ones for the Pentium 4 which is the PC2-4200 or above... I know this is an old computer so I am doubt that is the right speed for the RAM needed here... so please let me know the range of speeds for RAM this model can use... it seems when I search on ebay, the most prevalent model is the PC-3200/400mhz speed, which sounds more right to me.

This system uses DDR2 memory so older DDR memory will not work. Here's a what Crucial recommends for this system. http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=OptiPlex%20GX280%20%28Desktop%20and%20Mini-tower%20Models%29

Thanks, I already had that info but I just found it hard to believe that they even had pc2-4200 memory when this Optiplex first came out... do u happen to know when this GXS280 was first released?  Maybe there is another GX280 model that is not what we are looking at here?  Because as I said, several ebay sellers have PC-3200's for sale for the GX2800.. please note again this is the Celeron R model, not Pentium or even Celeron D.  Thank you.

Dell did use ddr2-400 on some of these models but not ddr 400. The GX270 and GX260 used DDR. You can see what orginally shipped with the system by using your service tag here http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/my_systems_info/en/details?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs
