Have you updated your video drivers lately? How old is the system? One other thing, which is what happened to me, the board was loose. Turn the system off, unplug it. Open the case, loosen the screws holding the video card, pull it out, replace, make sure there is a good connection with the motherboard, replace the screws. Put cover back on, plug back in and restart the system. Make sure you either ground yourself or wear a wrist strap, as any static will cause problems.

Try downlloading the most recent Dell Monitor Driver, Dellmon.exe from the downloads page. I received the same message until Dell updated their drivers
I have never updated my video drivers. I guess I assumed that the video driver that was provided at the time of purchase for my specific video card would always work. My system is 18 mos old. It is a Dimension XPS R350. Since I am not currrently at home, I believe the video card to be a Fire GL1000 or something like that. I will try to re-seat the video card as you suggested.
