P2314T Touch Screen not touching on HP computer?
Windows 7 computer (HP) attached, installed CD, loaded drivers,
plug in USB 3.0 cable,
plug keyboard and mouse though monitor.
Monitor and it's manager work fine. keyboard and mouse work though monitor fine.
However.. Computer does not recognize touchscreen device. no touch. tried both 32bit and 64 bit machines.
Troubleshooting: swapped cables, swapped monitors (bought 3 of them) swapped pc's will not recognize the USB connection. Device manager says Unknown Device. (windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43). tried starting by unplugging all, plugging usb 3.upstream cable first, then vga
nothing.
Help please!

PROBLEM SOLVED:
So, the usb device was not recognized by the HP computer and it should have just plugged and played. We tried it on a Dell Laptop and it worked fine.
Dell sent me to HP and HP escalated the note within their support group, crickets.
I dug around HP nothing, Intel, nothing. Windows, not much.
Even though the computer said updates were up-to-date, I forced a check and sure enough, there were some non installed updates.
after downloading the new service pack and after a reboot, the touch side works.
Done.

Did you go into the Windows settings and enable Touch on this PC?

within windows7 control panel/ hardware and sound/ there should be a enable touch and pen. with the monitor not recognized as a touch device, that option doesn't show up. it's not there.

my mistake, it is the 2314t monitor. NOT the 2340t which is a true usb appliance.
the drivers for the 2314t only relate to the monitor side not the usb side.
