PSU and GPU Upgrade Question
Hey guys,
I want to upgrade the PSU for mainly a new graphics card. I'm using an Inspiron 620 MT and before I buy anything I want to make sure the power supply will fit.
I've been looking at either this 600w or 750w power supply:
http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Builder-Series-Watt-CX600/dp/B0092ML0OC/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top
Do you guys know if either power supply will fit in the 620MT?
I haven't decided on a GPU yet, but I'm open to any recommendations that would be compatible with the new power supply. I use the computer for gaming, but the AMD Radeon HD 6450 1GB DDR3 just isn't cutting it.
Here are my current specs:
Inspiron 620 MT
Intel® Core i5-2310 processor(6MB Cache, 2.90GHz)
8GB Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM at 1333MHz - 2 DIMMs
1TB Serial ATA Hard Drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache
AMD Radeon HD 6450 1GB DDR3
PSU: 300 watts

Hi recklasman,
Though Dell has not tested the power supply you intend to purchase, however, while researching on this topic, I saw a successful upgrade of power supply to Antec Neo Eco 620C on a Dell Inspiron 620 MT which is bigger than the Corsair CX600 in dimensions.
Dimensions of Antec Neo Eco 620C : 86mm (H) x 150mm (W) x 150mm (D) ; 3.4" (H) x 5.9" (W) x 5.9" (D) [as given on manufacturer website]
Dimensions of Corsair CX600 : 86mm (H) x 150mm (W) x 140mm (L) ; 3.4" (H) X 5.9" (W) x 5.5" (L) [as given on manufacturer website]
Refer to the screenshot below in which the Antec is installed in Inspiron 620 MT
Hope this helps.
