Possible virus????

I just received an e-mail that said that there was a virus named sulfnbk.exe. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it true or a hoax. I was told to go to start, find, and type in the name sulfnbk.exe and delete it if I had it! Please advise!

Thanks to all for the very quick response. I will notify the sender that it is a hoax.

Yeah, I got that file too, but it's just another one of those old hoaxes. Don't delete that file, if i remember correctly, it is needed to start windows. Don't forward that email, that is how hoaxes get spread around.

obxjdp,

It is a hoax. That is a legitimate Windows file (which is why your antivirus program didn't find it, as the email undoubtedly told you in horrified terms).

Sorry, your browser doesn't support Java.

Whenever I get those types of emails I immediately go here:

Symantec stays very up to date on hoax viruses since those emails are becoming so common.
