Unknown concerning the retail memory.
The validated memory configurations in its 8 slots =2GB,4GB, 8GB, 16GB, and 32GB

I'm using Kingston brand memory without problems. I don't think that memory you bought is compatible. Check this link: www.crucial.com/.../precision-5810
