Precision R5400 Dual Quad core upgrade problems

Question

We purchased from Dell  2 x Xeon 5410, 2.33GHz  upgrade kits with the aim of converting a R5400 from 1x Xeon 5450 (3GHz) to  2 x Xeon 5410 (2.33GHz) So far no success. The R5400 will recognise any one of the 3 CPUs in the first CPU slot  however the BIOS doesn't seem to spot a second CPU. We've upgraded the BIOS to the latest from the Dell website and tried pulling the CMOS battery for a bit, no success. Any ideas at all would be useful Thanks Mike   P.S. Also removed the plastic protection from the second CPU socket, before anybody asks.
