Processor upgrade - how do I update the BIOS?

I have a Dell XPS R400 with Bios A13 installed. The old processor was SLOW so I replaced it with an Intel PIII 600e. The bios now reports the PC is running with a PII 500 processor... Any suggestions on how to update the bios with the correct processor information?

You're already using the latest and last BIOS Dell released for your system.  I would suggest posting your problem in the Dimension - Upgrade Hardware forum.  Processor upgrades are a frequent topic in that venue and someone there can best advise as to whether or not your new processor is compatible with your system.

This is cosmetic only if it is displaying the processor as a "Pentium Pro 500" as mine does with a 1.1GHZ Celeron!  Check the actual speed using the System icon in Control Panel (if using XP) or Aida or Belarc Advisor and you will find the true processor speed.  PS Bios A12 is recommended for better stability than A13.
