Q. the proper temperature of CPU and hard drive?

Hi,

I use my laptop (inspiron e1505) for more than 8 hours per day.

Definitely, the bottom of my laptop is so hot. (especially the battery part)

So, I checked the temperature of CPU and hard dirve.

CPU was 125 ℉ and hard drive was 124 ℉

Are these safe degrees? or Do I need any cooler?

Thank you

That is approx 50C. That is high for idle but not if you are doing something CPU intensive. My I6400 (same as the 1505) with CD 1.6G gets to 70C before the fan comes on (then it cools down to 40-50C) when both cores are at 100%. It works fine that way with no problems. At idle it stays fairly cool. Right now (reading these forums) it is at 33C.

If the fans are running, make sure you have adequate air flow to allow it cool properly.

Make sure you have speedstep enabled to keep things cool when idling.
