[Question] XPS 8900 RAM upgrade
Hi Guys,
Recently purchased a Dell XPS 8900 i7 6700 with 16GB RAM and I'm not very good in tech.
As I've some question to ask:
1. Do Dell XPS 8900 support this RAM Corsair Vengeance LED 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 Memory Kit? If yes then able to support up to 32GB?
2. Is Cooler Master GX 650W Bronze edition able to support my new graphic card in hand ready to upgrade? (Radeon RX480 8GB)
Thats all for now.
Thank you.

From what I can see, your computer accepts a max DDR 4 at 2133Mhz. You could technically put in the 3200Mhz but your probably going to spend more money on the RAM vs getting the correct speed. As for the Power supply, it shouldn't have any issues powering the RX480.

There was some discussion on the RX480 in this thread.

Just make sure the timings of the memory match. You can download and install cpu-z for that info. I used G.Skill Ripjaws F4-2133C15D-32GVR which are 2x16. Took out the original stuff and plugged in the new no fuss no muss..... Also (I don't want to start a debate about nvida vs amd) but think twice about the 480. From what I have seen they run too hot for my liking which is normal for AMD. Like I said I don't want to debate which is better... To me a graphics card is a graphics card. The only thing that concerned me was the heat which translates to power consumption. If you are set on AMD you might need to put in a bigger power supply. If I remember correctly the stock 8900 is 460W. I have a EVGA 650W sitting in wings but I have not needed it with a GTX 960.

Planning to upgrade the RAM to this Avexir Core Series DDR4 2400Mhz 2x8GB C16 White Led. It's okay with this?
I've plugged in AMD RX480 8GB inside my xps 8900 with 650w psu. All high end games works perfectly so far.
