Question for XPS 630i owner with Corsair Dominator memory
When I configured my computer, I just ordered it with the stock Dell 800mhz memory instead of the Corsair Dominator memory.
I want to upgrade to the Corsair Dominator. Can someone who ordered their computer with the Corsair memory, tell me what model number the memory is so I can order the same thing?
Thanks

Hi Again,
The numbers are from my invoice.
I wonder if Dell uses different numbers for different deals even though the thing is the same. For example, when I purchased my 630 PC, the upgrade to the Corsair Dominator memory was free.

CD60,
Thanks, but the memory in your links is 1066mhz speed, I'm looking for the 800mhz Dominator memory that Dell installs.
I know you said not to worry about the speed and that the memory will revert to 800mhz, but I have heard that if you put 1066mhz memory in a system designed for 800mhz, the memory will actually run slower due to slower timings.
I'm starting to think that Dell is using some special OEM memory designed by Corsair that you can only get from Dell because I cannot find 800mhz "Dominator" memory anywhere.

Justin,
Thank you for checking. I'm still not sure though because when I enter the item# or the part# you show, at Dell, they both come up as not found.

No problem. I actually had not heard that before, not saying it isn't true. But keep in mind you will be able to overclock that memory easily (that's what it's made for). Anyway just trying to save you some money. And I can tell you that it's not slowing my system any. It outright flies :smileywink:

CD60,
The 1066mhz memory is great for your XPS 720 system, I've only got the XPS 630i, totally different motherboard.
