Questions about performance difference Between C2D and C2Q

Ok without re-covering too much ground, I have a dimension 9200 with an E6400 C2D , from reading the info on this site I understand the best quad I can put on the LGA775 socket is a Q6600... Now the reason for upgrading is for gaming, will an upgrade to this C2Q give me the performance boost to run say battlefield 3 on medium settings? Or am I wasting my money? (I don't have the funds to build a new system but have upgraded the Graphics card to a GT440 and put in 4gb of DDR ram.) Also upgrading to quad would my 370w power supply be sufficient? Thanks in advance Rich

No

No

and

No

Quads require bigger power supply when paired with 150W and Higher GPUs.

Unless its almost Free its a waste.

Your mistake was upgrading to a GT 440.  This is not the video card you want to play Battlefield 3.  This system has a 375 watt power supply.  What you should do is sell your GT 440 and buy an HD 7770 and then see how the game plays before doing anything else.

So basically it's not worth me upgrading anything and I have the wrong graphics card for gaming.... Is there anything else I can do to improve the performance? I am guessing there are no other mobo/processors that fit the dell case? Can I overclock the C2D?
