It can play movies fine, but the Pro version allows you to add filters to make the movies look better and it has other features you can use. The website said that once you've installed the Pro version that you'll see other menu options when you open the program.

When I open the program (after installing the Pro version - using the Registration Key given by Apple), it looks the same as the free downloaded version. The new Pro menu options don't come up.

I've tried uninstalling the free download version and re-installing it, hoping that it would recognize the Pro version. But that didn't work.

Can you help? Is there something I'm missing or not doing something right?

I'd appreciate your help.

give us more details on what is going wrong. Will the program start up, will it play a quicktime movie?

a couple of queries.

what version of quicktime does your computer say you have. if not 6.5.2 then download and install that

Did you download the quicktime standalone installer(on apples forum one user recommends this)

Also do not type in the username and key. Cut and paste them from the email into quicktime.

when I tried to enter mine by hand I retried it about 20 times. Only when I did the old cut and paste did it work right.

I have the latest version of Quicktime 6.5.2. I've tried copying and pasting the password in the Registration, but the Quicktime menu options still haven't changed. Can you tell me what Quicktime Pro is supposed to look like when you start the program?

In the Registration, it says Quicktime Pro, however, when I go to the program and look at the "About Quicktime" properties, it says Quicktime 6.5.2. It doesn't mention Pro, like it does in the Registration Area. So, I don't know if the Registration is connecting to the software and unlocking the new features or not.

Another question, in the Registration area, below the "Edit Registration" button, there's a button called "Register On-line." Am I supposed to do anything with that? Everytime I click on it, it takes me to a "dummy page", meaning that the link supposedly doesn't work.

Yesterday, I uninstalled the Quicktime and downloaded the one you suggested off the APPLE website. But, the same situation occurred: Quicktime Pro isn't appearing.
