Update the date / time in the BIOS and then replace your CMOS battery. That should cure it.

Are you getting this in the black start-up screen or from Windows? Before or after log on?
Does it allow you to boot into Windows normally?

This is what actuly happens,
When i hit the start button a black screen comes up and it say's
"INVALID CONFIGURATION - PLEASE RUN SETUP PROGRAM"
then under that it say's "
PERFORMING AUTOMATIC IDE CONFIGURATION"
Can anybody tell me how to run the setup program and will this cure it ?
i just changed the battery this morning and it's working ok now but thanks anyway.
